Base coat: OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
Color: Muchi Muchi by Essie
Top coat: Seche Vite
Since this was my first time trying a much-anticipated Essie polish, I thought I'd share some of my thoughts and experiences. I bought this in the color Muchi Muchi from Target and had read some reviews that it is sheer and needs more than one coat. When using it, right away I noticed that either the brush or the polish, or both combined, gave it a very flexible, liquid feeling. Much more so than my other polishes, which are all around a year old.
It's very streaky in the first coat, the second coat gets a lot better, though certain nails might need a small swab of a third coat on isolated streaky spots. I wasn't used to the much thinner formula and messed up a few times by either using too many coats (don't use more than 3) or accidentally dripping too much on, both of which resulted in the polish not drying well and getting dented after (im)patiently waiting for 15 + minutes!
Overall, I think this is a good polish that will take some getting accustomed to. Once I achieved the look, I was really happy with the glossy shine, almost like plastic, and the lovely pink color. It has an elegant yet subtly playful look. Might be a weird association but it reminds me of collecter's edition Barbies. What do you think? And do you have a favorite shade of pink? :)
