My boyfriend surprised me with an early birthday present in the form of the newest Clarisonic. This post is not so much a review, rather more of a visual documentation of the product, what it includes, and the pricing/quality of the ordering service. I will also add what I hope for this to accomplish, along with a brief first impression. In case you have no idea what the Clarisonic does or is known for (which was exactly my state of mind regarding this product just a few short months ago), I will quote the company's description at the end of this post.
He ordered this from Skinterra, an online company that offered a 20% discount. This brought the total price down to $119.20 along with the added bonus of free shipping and no tax. It came with a nice selection of samples. What might interest you is the $20 giftcard which I believe anyone can use. If this post happens to find you ready to spend at least $80 on skincare products, then head on over to skinterra.com and enter the code GIFT20 when you checkout. (It expires 9/1/2012)
My main skin issues are an oily T-zone, enlarged/clogged pores around the nose and inner cheek, and redness around the nose and inner cheek areas. Lesser issues are uneven skin tone, dullness, and the occasional whitehead. I'm hoping that with a mix of using the OCM and the Mia 2, I'll have the skin of a model. Ha, kidding, more like noticeable improvement in some of the aforementioned areas. :)
I plan to use this every night in the shower. So far I've used it exactly once, and well, despite many reviewers saying that their skin felt super squeaky clean, my skin felt just as clean as when I used my favorite makeup remover to take off the light makeup I had used that day. However, a more noticeable difference came the following morning. Usually when I wake up in the morning I feel a strong need to wash my face right away. However, the morning after, my face felt pretty good! Like all it needed was a warm splash of water.
I will post an actual review in a month or two, hopefully with good things to share! One more thing - the vibrations really tickle the nose! And now for the promised company's description:
What is a Clarisonic?
The brush head oscillates at more than 300 movements per second to "gently massage away impurities trapped within pores. In just one minute a day, the sonic action removes impurities from pores so creams, serums, and moisturizers are absorbed better. [It] cleanses 6x better than with your hands alone. Without proper cleansing, makeup, dirt and oil can build up on skin, causing blackheads, blemishes and dullness. With Clarisonic, you can remove the impurities that come between you and healthier looking, more radiant skin. Unlike cleansing methods that use harsh chemicals or rely on friction alone, the Mia 2 is gentle enough to use twice a day - even on skin affected by complicated conditions like rosacea or acne."
What do you think of this product? An honest attempt to help & improve ... or just another expensive gadget for sheeple with a predilection for the placebo effect? I guess I will be finding out!
