This park is located in the Bronx. You take the 1 train alllll the way to the last stop which is two hundred and something street. It is a fairly long trip. You may want to bring a book (Jane Eyre or The Magic Mountain perhaps?).
Is it worth it?
Well, there are miles and miles of uncrowded green. You could walk to upstate New York if you so desired. There are horses and cats and giant leaves bigger than your face...
Yes it's worth it! And if you ask me, a great alternative to Central Park which will always be jam packed – although, if you have a good eye, you may be lucky enough to spot a celebrity. A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend oh I can stop now recently saw Cory Monteith there. ^_^
fyi: the cat was actually found at a nearby plant nursery. I think if it lived in the park it wouldn't last the night given the coyotes that live there.
